Riser Hang-Off Systems

A Riser Hang-Off is a structural device used in offshore drilling or production systems to support and secure a vertical Riser pipe (the pipe that connects the seabed equipment to a platform or vessel). It holds the weight of the Riser string, transfers the load from the Riser to the platform structure, & keeps the Riser fixed in position while allowing safe installation or maintenance.

OUR TRACK-RECORD

Our team have delivered several Riser Hang-Off Systems for offshore developments across multiple platforms. The supplied systems have been engineered for axial loads up to 1100 kNdownward and 850kN upward, lateral loads up to 500kN, and horizontal moments up to 220kNm. Designs have accommodated seal design pressures up to 230 bar, demonstrating our in-depth knowledge of sealing systems with load resistive requirements. 

EXPERIENCE

Since 2006, our team have a proven track record in the design and supply of Riser Hang-Off Systems for major offshore operators including BG Group and BP. Our teams portfolio includes multiple projects across platforms such as Armada Hub (Maria), Juniper, Everest East Extension, Gaupe, Utgard, Gina Krog, and Gudrun, with installations completed between 2006 and 2019. Our team were involved in developing a system to account for extreme Riser curvature during pull-in operations due to the rigidity of the Riser, demonstrating our ability to support the most demanding of engineering solutions.
